Know & Go: FRBR-LRM

FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records), FRAD (Functional Requirements for Authority Data) and FRSAD (Functional Requirements for Subject Authority Data) are the three conceptual models underlying RDA. The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) has just released a draft document defining the FRBR-LRM (FRBR Library Reference Model, which seeks to combine FRBR, FRAD and FRSAD into one conceptual model. This Know & Go will review the three conceptual models and provide an overview of FRBR-LRM.
 

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the relationship of FRBR, FRAD and FRSAD to RDA
  • Understand the background to the development of FRBR-LRM
  • Understand how FRBR-LRM articulates relationships between entities

Target Audience:
Catalogers and metadata practitioners who wish to know the latest information regarding conceptual models related to RDA.
