Know & Go: Provider-Neutral Guidelines for eBooks
This Know & Go will address the Provider-Neutral Guidelines for cataloging eBooks. These guidelines were designed to prevent duplication of records representing eBooks sold by multiple vendors such as Amazon (Kindle) and Barnes & Noble (Nook).
Learning Objectives:
- Define the Provider-Neutral Guidelines and their purpose in shared bibliographic databases such as OCLC
- Cover major RDA elements as they apply to Provider-Neutral Guidelines
Target Audience:
Catalogers tasked with cataloging eBooks in shared bibliographic databases.
Prerequisites:
- Experience with cataloging
- Basic knowledge of RDA is helpful, but not necessary
