Live Online System Requirements

These sessions use virtual meeting technology over the Internet. Learners and trainers are logged on simultaneously and use communication, collaboration, and applications sharing technology. In addition, Voice Over IP technology allows participants to talk with each other and the instructor through a small microphone plugged into the sound card on their computer.

Microsoft System Requirements
• Windows 2000 (SP4)
• Windows XP Home, Professional (SP2)
• Windows Vista Business, Enterprise (32-bit or 64-bit)
• P350+ MHz, 128+ MB memory
• 800x600 16-bit color display or better
• Sound card and Speakers (Microphone or headset with microphone optional)

Apple System Requirements
• Mac OS X 10.4.4, 10.5.x
• G4 700 MHz PowerPC, 384+ MB memory
• Display color depth: Thousands of colors
• Sound card and Speakers (Microphone or headset with microphone optional)

Linux System Requirements
• SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop Version 9 or 10
• Red Hat Linux Enterprise Desktop Version 5
• P500+ MHz, 256+ MB Memory
• 1024x768 16-bit color display or better
• Sound card and Speakers (Microphone or headset with microphone optional)

Supported Web Browsers
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2 or later
• Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.6 or later
• Netscape 9
• Apple Safari 2.0.1 or later

Network connections via dial-up should work. However, be advised that you may experience more difficulties in some courses due to those bandwidth constraints.

A microphone or headset with microphone is recommended, but not required. Students without a microphone contribute to conversations through text chat.
