Live Online System Requirements

These sessions use virtual meeting technology over the Internet. Learners and trainers are logged on simultaneously and use communication, collaboration, and applications sharing technology. In addition, Voice Over IP technology allows participants to talk with each other and the instructor through a small microphone plugged into the sound card on their computer.

• Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, Business, or Enterprise (32-bit edition, or 64-bit edition with 32-bit browser)
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Home Edition with Service Pack 2
• Mac OS X v10.4, 10.5, 10.6 (Intel)
• Mac OS X v10.4 (PowerPC)
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4.x, 5.x
• Novell SUSE 9.x or 10.x
• Solaris

Additional Requirements
• Adobe Flash Player 8 or later
• Network connections via dial-up (56Kbps) should work. However, be advised that you may experience more difficulties in some courses due to those bandwidth constraints.
• Speakers or headphones attached to your computer

A microphone or headset with microphone is recommended, but not required. Students without a microphone contribute to conversations through text chat.
