Map Cataloging
Cartographic resources can leave catalogers wondering which way to go. This workshop serves as the beginning compass on a very specific cataloging journey. Review the basic principles of map cataloging, understand Machine Readable Cataloging Records (MARC) fields specific to cartographic resources, and begin creating MARC records for maps.
Learning objectives for this session include:
- Learning the basic principles of map cataloging
- Understanding Machine Readable Cataloging Records (MARC) fields specific to cartographic resources
- Creating a MARC record for a map
