What does it take to qualify:
Accountant IV: Salary range: $4,900.00 - $5,200.00

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Substitution: Graduation from high school/GED and four years of accounting work experience.
  • Three years of work experience reconciling receipts, invoices, and/or processing payments.
  • Three years of experience creating, updating and/or maintaining spreadsheets.
  • One year of experience using the State of Texas Uniform Statewide Accounting Systems (USAS)
  • One year of experience using the State of Texas Identification System (TINS)
  • One year of experience using the Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS)

Accountant V: Salary range: $5200.00 - $5,500.00

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Substitution: Graduation from high school/GED and four years of accounting work experience.
  • Four years of work experience reconciling receipts, invoices, and/or processing payments.
  • Four years of experience creating, updating and/or maintaining spreadsheets.
  • Two years of experience using the State of Texas Uniform Statewide Accounting Systems (USAS)
  • Two years of experience using the State of Texas Identification System (TINS)
  • Two years of experience using the Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS)

Our ideal candidate will also have experience with the following:

  • Experience processing documents, including bank and credit card statements and encumbrances.
  • Experience preparing Quarterly Payroll Tax documents.
  • Experience preparing Annual payroll and Vendor Tax
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite Software
  • Experience reconciling and compiling deposits.
  • Experience processing State of Texas travel reimbursements.
  • Supervisory or Team Lead experience.
  • Experience with Governmental Accounting; budgeting methods, policies and procedures.
  • Experience with the Automated Budget and Evaluation System of Texas (ABEST)
  • Experience training staff.
  • State experience processing Federal Funds.
