Course Description

Libraries often must justify collection decisions and find creative ways to remove barriers to access. Attaining a broad understanding of intellectual freedom as a professional value will strengthen librarian’s ability to navigate challenges and implement effective policies.

Learning objectives for this session include
  • Evaluate library policies and procedures for inclusiveness and protection of patron privacy.
  • Apply the 5 steps to having purposeful conversations about intellectual freedom issues when responding to users and coworkers.
