Amigos Fellowship and Opportunity Award Now Accepting 2014 Award Applications

The Amigos Fellowship and Opportunity Award Program supports library innovation, development, and research. Through a competitive selection process, up to $10,000 is available annually to Amigos member libraries and their staffs.

Project proposals may be submitted by an Amigos member library or an individual librarian working in an Amigos member library. Amigos will accept draft proposals for preliminary review up until January 20, 2014. This optional preliminary step is designed to provide guidance that can help applicants clarify their project description and budget, increasing the competitiveness of their final proposal. Final applications for the 2014 Amigos Fellowship and Opportunity Award are due March 1, 2014.

Start the application process now by reviewing the guidelines and submitting your intent to apply. You will then receive a user name and password to access the full application packet.

The Fellowship and Opportunity Award Program evolved out of the Amigos Fellowship Program, which was founded in 1990. During its 23-year history, the Fellowship Program awarded over $100,000 to foster professional development. The new program, implemented in 2011, expanded the award’s purposes to include funding that will encourage Amigos member libraries to innovate, cooperate, lead, and educate within their libraries, their communities, and the library profession.
