Metadata Encoding Transmission Standard (METS) Workshop Offered in November

Join Bill Walker for the live online workshop, METS: The Basics. This class will bring you up to speed on the XML schema that binds complex digital objects and their descriptive and administrative metadata together. During the four hours of instruction on November 28-29 (10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. CST) you will:

  • Recognize the purpose of METS and its application as a means of providing access to and archiving digital resources
  • Recognize the role profiles play in defining specific applications of METS
  • Name the sections of a METS object
  • Identify the structures of METS sections
  • Describe the possible relationships between metadata and digital resources in a METS object
  • Build a simple METS object
