An Introduction to Teaching Information Literacy

This introduction to teaching information literacy (IL) defines information literacy as a concept, introduces the ACRL Framework and other IL standards, and reviews teaching methods. Instructional design concepts will help learners improve their instruction.
 

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify appropriate teaching methods for information literacy
  • Employ strategies for interaction between the librarian, learners, and content
  • Align information literacy instruction activities, technology, and assessment to established learning goals

This course consists of one 2-hour session.
