DOAJ at 20 -- Journal Stories

Throughout 2023, DOAJ is marking it’s DOAJ's 20th birthday with webinars, a fundraising campaign and by telling the DOAJ story and about the people who use it. They will highlight the positive impacts DOAJ has had on journals, communities and research worldwide.

The DOAJ June journal story comes from an U.S. journal that flipped to a fully diamond open access journal, from a paywalled subscription journal after the whole editorial board resigned. Dr. Sara Billey, a member of the Steering Committee, said that they wanted the content to be freely accessible worldwide, with no fees.
