Keeping Up During Cataloging Month

June is Cataloging Month, the perfect time to bone up on your cataloging skills. Amigos is here to help you.

The archives from our April online conference, "Linked Data & RDF: New Frontiers in Metadata and Access," are still available. Topics include how to start using linked data, possible privacy issues, an overview of BIBFRAME, working with Schema.org, and how to make your library visible using linked data.

If you registered for this conference, use the same login information to watch the session recordings. If you did not register, the archives are still available to you. Go to http://www.amigos.org/linked_data, choose the Archives tab, and complete the form to register for the archives. There is no charge for Amigos members; non-members only pay $45 (for individuals) or $85 (for a group).

If you hurry, you can still sign up for Bill Walker's "Cataloging with RDA" course, scheduled for June 16-19. Bill will give you a thorough overview of the standard, including the latest news. If you haven't yet delved into RDA, this is your opportunity. The class meets June 16-19, so you must register by Friday, June 12.

Cataloging Month is also the perfect time to purchase your subscription to the RDA Toolkit. Amigos members can receive a single-simultaneous-user subscription as part of your membership. Additional simultaneous subscriptions are available at 15% of ALA's list price.
