Craig Stephenson Joins Amigos Board

August 30, 2011 — Amigos Library Services is pleased to announce that Mr. Craig Stephenson, City Manager for the City of Ponca City, OK, has been appointed to the Amigos Board of Directors. Mr. Stephenson replaces Mr. Joel Valdez, Tucson, AZ, who was unable to serve. He will serve a one-year term on the Board and be eligible for election next spring to complete the remaining two years of Mr. Valdez’s three-year term.

DUBLIN, Ohio, January 8, 2011—OCLC and Amigos Library Services, two leading nonprofit library membership organizations, have entered into a new partnership to provide libraries with expanded implementation, training and education services for OCLC's new Web-scale Management Services.

Amigos Announces Expanded Fellowship Program

August 4, 2010 — Amigos Library Services has unveiled enhancements to its longtime fellowship program that seek to inspire member library creativity and innovation. By funding a wider range of projects, the expanded program – now known as the Amigos Fellowship and Opportunity Award – will appeal to member libraries in greater numbers. With the newly published guidelines, Amigos hopes to foster more competition for funds and address member requests for greater clarity of purpose and flexibility in use of the funds.

Amigos Library Services Presents Online Conference - Reference @ Your Library

DALLAS, TX, July 26 – Amigos Library Services will present a one day online conference “Reference @ Your Library” on August 31. The conference will include sessions focusing on how mobile technology (may) impact reference, embedding reference librarians in online classes, and determining whether technology is a burden or a blessing.
