Austin Public Library – Hampton at Oak Hill Branch Library Manager
The Library Manager oversees the daily operations of a library branch within the Austin Public Library system. This role is responsible for leading a team of library staff, ensuring high-quality public service, and managing programs, collections, and community engagement initiatives. The Library Manager fosters an inclusive, welcoming environment and ensures alignment with the Library’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, developing branch services, maintaining facilities, and serving as a liaison between the library and the community.

SALARY RANGE: $68,660 to $85,830 annually
HOURS: Shift Work – Full Time/40 hours a week
- Hours and shifts may vary to include weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
- Hours subject to change based upon Library needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, plus five (5) years of relevant experience, including two (2) years of experience which were in a lead or supervisory capacity.
OR
- Graduation with a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, plus three (3) years of relevant experience, including two (2) years of experience which were in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading the work of others in a library environment
- Experience in workflow management
- Experience in delivering excellent customer service and resolving customer concerns
- Experience in leading and motivating public-facing staff
- Experience in library collection management
- Experience working with diverse communities
- Ability to travel
