The SHSU Library is seeking applicants for a new, non-tenure track, 12-month faculty librarian position that provides professional information and instructional services to meet the teaching, learning, and research needs of students, faculty, and other affiliated users at the newly constructed Health Professions Building (HPB) and College of Health Sciences (COHS). The librarian will serve as the primary subject liaison for Dietetics, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies & Athletic Training, and the School of Nursing.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in library/information science from a program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or significant coursework in the relevant subject liaison area(s).
  • Experience working in an academic, health sciences, medical, or hospital library.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and education.

Note: This position is primarily located in the new Health Professions Building (HPB) in Conroe, TX, and the librarian will be expected to occasionally travel to the university’s Woodlands Center and the Huntsville campus to provide library instruction or attend in-person training or meetings.
