The library occupies a unique role, whether in a city, town, or on an academic campus. Within this third space, library staff have an opportunity to recognize and meet needs in a way that few other organizations can. Whether connecting users to local services, providing space to nurture grassroots initiatives, or encouraging student wellness, libraries position themselves at the center of human connection.
Registration is now open for Libraries Cultivating Community, an Amigos online conference focused on ways the library makes itself indispensable to communities of all kinds. Join us on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Central for our opening keynote speakers, Alyssa Brissett and Diana Moronta, editors of the book Practicing Social Justice in Libraries. Participants can expect a full day of conference programs for both academic and public libraries before enjoying an inspiring session from our closing keynote, Megan Phifer-Davis, a 2024 Library Journal Mover & Shaker.
This conference and all courses on the Continuing Education Services schedule are free for Amigos members.
