The Public Library Association (PLA) and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) are asking libraries to complete their statistical surveys this fall. Participation helps build a more complete picture of library services and impact nationwide.
Academic libraries: The ACRL survey captures the impact of academic libraries across the United States. With 2024–25 marking the final reporting year for the IPEDS Academic Library Component, participation is especially important to help sustain comprehensive national data. Visit the ACRL announcement for survey details and instructions.
Public libraries: PLA is gathering data on how public libraries help bridge the digital divide in their communities. Participation supports nationally representative findings to inform the field, policymakers, and the media, while helping PLA develop relevant professional development resources.
Help ensure your library is represented by completing the survey for your library type. Public libraries can visit PLA Surveys and Data for more information; academic libraries can follow the ACRL announcement above.
