HeinOnline, a recently added Amigos MDS vendor, has introduced four significant databases that expand access to historical, legal, and governmental information. These new collections strengthen the research tools available to member libraries and support patrons who need comprehensive, authoritative primary sources. HeinOnline continues to grow rapidly, adding new subject collections that deepen legal and interdisciplinary research offerings.
The newly released Environmental Law and Policy database launched in February 2026 and includes more than 8,500 titles and 3.6 million pages. It documents the evolution of environmental law in the United States and internationally through statutes, legislative histories, agency reports, treaties, and an interactive global timeline. This database provides the historical depth researchers need to interpret modern environmental policies within a broader context.
HeinOnline has also integrated CourtListener, a powerful case law tool built by the Free Law Project. This addition delivers more than nine million U.S. court decisions from over 2,000 courts in one searchable interface. Users can trace citations, explore judicial interpretations, and conduct case law research without switching platforms.
The Organization of American States (OAS) collection, launched in September 2025, provides nearly 1,500 publications digitized for the first time. Drawn from the Columbus Memorial Library, this database contains official documents, treaties, and historic records that trace a century of inter-American diplomacy and cooperation.
Finally, the Complete Periodical Literature of Law Librarianship database offers more than 5,000 annotated articles on law librarianship. This 2025 Joseph L. Andrews Legal Literature Award winning resource combines historical and contemporary literature with HeinOnline’s advanced indexing, giving librarians and researchers an essential reference tool.
HeinOnline became an Amigos Member Discount Services vendor last year, meaning members can now access these databases at exclusive discounted pricing while expanding their collections with authoritative, high-impact research resources.
Members interested in learning more about any of these four databases can explore the brochures provided by HeinOnline or reach out for additional details.
