The rise of social media has transformed the way individuals interact with each other and the world around them, and its impacts are felt across every aspect of society.  Oxford’s Social Media in Society and Culture Intersection Collection is now available as part of the new Oxford Intersections series.

Often called the fourth communication revolution, social media -- like each of its forerunners (writing, printing, and audio/visual communication) – has reshaped how we connect, communicate, and navigate the world. Social Media in Society and Culture explores the positive and negative impacts and highlights cultural differences across the globe.

Oxford Intersections are new curated collections that focus on complex, global issues centered in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Each topic curates articles from authors across disciplines, approaches, regions of the world, and life experiences to create a cohesive but ambitious interdisciplinary work.
