The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) has recognized the following libraries in the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) for their outstanding achievements and initiatives in 2013 and 2014. These Libraries of the Year were selected for their leadership, educational outreach, and commitment to providing free public access to information available from the Federal government.
Mid-Continent Public Library, Independence, MO - an Amigos Member - has been named as one of 10 recipients of the 2014 National Medal for Museum and Library Service awarded by The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The National Medal is the nation's highest honor given to museums and libraries for service to the community.
