Creating a Successful Disaster Plan

Do you have a disaster plan already in place? Do you know how successful your plan will be should you have to implement it during a disaster? This course will walk through the step-by-step process of creating a disaster plan from start to finish, and will focus on learning how and why many disaster plans fail and how to avoid those pitfalls.
 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Recognize the importance of creating a disaster plan
  • Recall and apply the steps to creating a disaster plan
  • Describe why many disaster plans fail
  • Understand the stumbling blocks to avoid when creating a disaster plan

Target Audience: 
Librarians, archivists, museum professionals, and any individuals who are interested in creating a successful disaster plan

None

Homework Expectations and Completion Requirements: 

  • Students will participate in class discussion and complete individual assignments.
  • It is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
