E-books: From Policy Implementation to Marketing and Evaluation

This course introduces you to concepts and tools necessary in implementing and delivering e-reader services to library users. You will learn about creating policies; marketing your service in traditional and new social media platforms; and put in place an assessment program that measures both the successes and shortfalls of your program. The course is also designed to provide you with opportunities to interact with and learn from colleagues from a variety of libraries.

Learning Objectives

  • Write policies concerning e-readers/e-content
  • Outline an implementation plan for usage of e-readers in libraries
  • Create marketing plan for e-reader service/program in your library
  • Discuss assessment planning for e-reader service

Target Audience
Any staff in libraries responsible for implementing or supporting e-reader services.

Prerequisites
None; bring an e-reader or tablet if you have it.

Homework Expectations and Completion Requirements
This is an interactive course and participants will be required to attend all sessions and complete homework assignments in order to earn Continuing Education credit.

It is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
