Amigos Library Services Invites Nominations for Board of Directors
The Amigos Nominating Committee is accepting nominations from individuals interested in serving on the Amigos Board of Directors. The 2024 election ballot, to be sent to members in April, will include candidates for four positions on the board – three board of directors positions for representatives from member institutions and one board of directors position for an independent representative.
NISO Releases Content Profile/Linked Document Standard
The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) recently announced the publication of its newest standard, ANSI/NISO Z39.105-2023, Content Profile/Linked Document (CP/LD), which enables portions of content, data, semantics, and other resources from separate sources to be combined into a single, standards-based format optimized for interchange, search, and display.

NISO Plus Scholarship Application Closing November 17
Part of National Information Standards Organization (NISO)'s ongoing efforts to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in the community, the NISO Plus scholarship program is intended for early- to mid-career professionals whose voices have been underrepresented in the information community. Awardees will learn about NISO's standards work, receive free registration to NISO events, travel and accommodations to NISO's annual conference in Baltimore (pending funder approval), networking and mentorship opportunities and more.
Jeffry Archer Appointed to Amigos Library Services Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Amigos Library Services (Amigos) has appointed Jeffry Archer, Dean of Libraries, Museums, and the Press, Baylor University (Texas) to serve as a member of the Board. Archer will complete the term vacated by Dr. Lea Briggs, University of New Mexico.

DOAJ, a trusted directory dedicated to indexing high-quality Open Access journals, plays a pivotal role in the scholarly community. Libraries make extensive use of DOAJ as a source of trusted journals, integrating metadata into their discovery systems and open access services. Amigos partnership with DOAJ simplifies the process of library contributions for DOAJ and facilitates libraries providing financial support for DOAJ’s vital work.
NISO announces call for participation for second cohort of CCLIP working groups
The IMLS-funded Collaborative Collections Lifecycle Project (CCLP), seeks to overcome serious barriers to wider implementations of cooperative collections management, including the lack of available vendor-neutral interoperable systems, adequate governance and decision-making frameworks, and assessment tools.
