This position will supervise the Irving Public Library's Outreach Team. Duties include coordinating assigned activities as part of the Community Engagement and Collections Division teams; focusing on ensuring that equity, diversity and inclusion outcomes are appropriately established, monitored and achieved relating to the collections, programming and services offered by the library; fostering cooperative relationships with other community organizations to support programming opportunities that promote community equity, especially relating to K-12 curriculum, adult education and workforce development; ensuring effectiveness of communication and marketing efforts regarding library programs and services to underserved populations; and assisting in the coordination of signature events such as the Big Read, North Texas Teen Book Festival and summer reading programs. A Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university or an equivalent graduate degree in a subject area such as education or social work; a minimum of three years of public library experience, as well as one year of supervisory or lead experience. Bilingual English/Spanish skills beneficial. Hours will vary and include evenings and weekends. A résumé must be submitted with application.
