Cataloging & Classification Basics

Need a "boot camp" to get started with cataloging? This course is designed to give you the practical, hands-on information needed to succeed in cataloging and prepares participants to begin copy cataloging by demonstrating how to interpret bibliographic records and match to items in hand. Examples and exercises will be based on OCLC-MARC, accessed through the Connexion cataloging interface.

Reference and Information Services

In addition to introducing you the key concepts and tools necessary in reference and information services, this course is also designed to encourage you to update your reference source materials and to provide you with opportunities to interact with and learn from colleagues from a variety of libraries across the country.

It's a challenge to keep up with technology itself, let-alone its emerging trends. Recent history can be a great place to spot themes and as an initial source for trend forecasting. So let's begin our catch-up process with revisiting technology trends of 2019 and looking to the predictions for 2020 trends.
