Amigos Welcomes Artstor - Hosts Informative Webinar

Amigos has recently partnered with Artstor, a nonprofit organization that uses digital technology to enhance scholarship, teaching, and learning in the arts and associated fields. Amigos members now will receive discounts on the Archive Capital Fee and Annual Access Fee for both the Artstor Digital Library and Artstor Shared Shelf.

The Artstor Digital Library provides more than 1.8 million digital images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences, with an accessible suite of software tools for teaching and research. The community-built collections comprise contributions from outstanding international museums, libraries, scholars, photo archives, and artists.

Shared Shelf allows libraries to catalog, manage, and share their institution's multimedia collections with ease, and allows users to create richer and more consistent data records quickly. It can easily accommodate any metadata schema, and backs up files safely in accordance with NDSA standards.

To introduce the Artstor Digital Library and Shared Shelf to Amigos members, an hour-long webinar is scheduled for Thursday, December 11 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. CST. The webinar will feature a short introduction to the Artstor Digital Library's 1.8M images and robust tools to support teaching and scholarship across disciplines, and Shared Shelf, Artstor's multimedia management solution that allows libraries to catalog, manage, and share local media collections with ease.
