Are you working on a metadata project that could benefit from a specialized vocabulary? Do you find yourself feeling like existing vocabularies such as the Library of Congress Subject Headings are a bit too one-size-fits-all?
In a time when budgets are shrinking, more and more libraries are turning to external funding, such as grants, to help fund special initiatives, projects, or services. If you have never written a grant proposal before, it can be a daunting task to keep track of all the required forms and documents in addition to finding a funding source.
The class takes students beyond basic archival processing guidelines to address how to deal with specific types of items found in collections such as newspaper clippings and post-it notes. This new class will take a more specific look at the description of items and folders.
