Excellence in Library Services to Older Adults

According to a 2020 report from the U.S. Census Bureau, "there's been a rapid increase in the size of the 65-and-older population, which grew by over a third since 2010. No other age group saw such a fast increase." Older adults are often a driving force behind support and participation with the public library; as a result, librarians often design their programs and services with older adults in mind.

In this course, we will identify what older adults want from their local library, compile a list of program and resources for them and discuss possible challenges inherent in serving older adults.
