Research and Instruction Librarian/Assistant Professor for English and Communication Studies, 12-month position.
Sam Houston State University Library is looking for an innovative, enthusiastic individual interested in providing general and specialized reference services for the university community, and participating in user-centered, subject-specific library instruction in both face-to-face and online settings. Position responsibilities include teaching library instructions classes for both undergraduate and graduate students, providing reference assistance, including one evening per week and some rotating weekend hours, and participating in collection development. SHSU's campus of 21,500 students is located 60 miles north of Houston in the beautiful piney woods of Huntsville, Texas.
Required Qualifications: A degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited master's program is required;
Preferred Qualifications: Some undergraduate or graduate coursework or academic library experience in English or Communication Studies.
