SALARY: $60,734.00 - $76,067.00 Annually

Pay for this position is based on a 12 month contract. This position is located on the WCJC Wharton Campus. The Public Services Librarian is responsible for coordinating the public services program of the Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) Library that includes reader services, library orientation and digital instructional support services. The Public Services Librarian assists the Director of Library Information and Technical Services, including recommending policies and procedures in support of library collections and services. The Director of Library Information and Technical Services supervises the position.
This position requires a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution. This position requires one (1) year of full time instructional or teaching experience as a librarian. This position requires a demonstrated competency with automated library systems, knowledge of electronic databases, emerging technologies, and instructional multimedia applications. This position requires supervisory experience and the ability to work effectively with faculty and colleagues. This position requires a strong commitment to customer services, team work, excellent communication skills, and enthusiasm for working with a diverse student clientele.
