Senior Librarian – Community Engagement -- Irving Public Library -- Irving, TX

The Irving Public Library is seeking a creative and customer service-oriented library professional with strong technology skills to be a member of the Community Engagement Team. This professional will help coordinate, manage and promote library services to community members and groups. The Senior Librarian will take a leadership role in planning and implementing outreach efforts and programs to the community, through both in-person and virtual channels, and help coordinate signature events such as the Big Read and summer reading programs.

Duties also include providing support for the North Texas Book Festival. Community engagement efforts include participation in community events, informational presentations to community groups and maintaining partnerships with schools and other community service organizations. This position works as a member of a team of professionals who provide system-wide services and also provides support to staff throughout the library system to organize and promote excellence in community engagement efforts and system programming, especially focusing on technology and maker programs and services.

Must have a Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university or an equivalent graduate degree; Minimum of three years public library experience, including one year of lead and/or increasingly responsible experience. Hours may vary and will include some evenings and weekends. A resume must be submitted with application.

Eff 1/12/20 Full pay range $4,601 - $6,485 per month ($55,212 - $77,820 annually), dependent upon qualifications.
