Conference Updates and Opening Keynote Announcement: Welcome Jason Martin of the Walker Library at Middle Tennessee State University!

Conference logo thumbnailAs the Interim Dean of the Walker Library at Middle Tennessee State University, Jason Martin oversees library assessment, policy, and professional development. He researches, presents and publishes on topics from organizational culture to emotional intelligence. We are excited to welcome Martin as the opening keynote for our Credo Reference sponsored May 15, 2019 Annual Member Online Conference to share his presentation "Leading to Empower, Empowering to Lead."

It doesn't come as a surprise that a library of empowered individuals has a greater sense of shared responsibility and accountability, resulting in improved collaboration. Based on findings that employees who are empowered are also more satisfied with their jobs and have better perceptions of management and leadership than those who are not, Martin’s session will explore how to go about empowering leaders, followers, and the library.

Wrapping up the conference is special guest Wendy Doucette of East Tennessee State University presenting the closing keynote: "Empathy Empowered Leadership: Self-Assessment & Promotion."

Other sessions throughout the day include:

  • Leading Through the Outlook of Group Identities
  • Reinventing Staff Development Day
  • Tapping Internal Leaders with IMPACT
  • Leading From Where You Are
  • Dynamic Leadership Development
  • Harnessing Strengths: A Toolbox for Leadership Development
