Library Branch Manager -- Irving Public Library -- Irving, TX
The Irving Public Library seeks an innovative and enthusiastic manager for its busiest library. The Valley Ranch Library serves a highly educated and diverse population that values library services.
The manager will work with three other branch managers, four functional team supervisors and the library director to develop programs and services to serve the city’s 230,000 residents.
Duties include managing, directing and organizing the operation and activities of the library; providing leadership and oversight to 18 professional and non-professional staff; selecting materials and planning programs that are relevant to the community. The manager will be responsible for program and materials budgets, and presentations to community groups, City Council Committees and the Library Board.
Possession of a Master of Library Science degree from American Library Association accredited college or university is required.
Four years’ experience performing professional public library work, as well as one year of supervisory or administrative experience required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skill beneficial.
Hours will include some evenings and weekends.
