Last Chance to Submit a Proposal for "Preservation: Back to Basics" Online Conference

Amigos announces a call for proposals for "Preservation: Back to Basics," an online conference taking place September 19, 2013.

We are looking for speakers to talk about the basics of preservation. Topics can cover any area of preservation, and should be aimed at individuals and institutions new to or with less than two years' experience in preservation and collection care. Proposals that offer practical, low-cost solutions are especially encouraged.

Topics could include:

  • Care of different types of materials (paper, art, textiles, objects, etc.)
  • Preservation planning
  • Preservation reformatting
  • Digital preservation
  • Working with vendors
  • Storage
  • Standards
  • Best practices
  • Lessons learned
  • Emergency planning
  • Basic recovery techniques

If you can speak on one of the topics above or have another idea in mind, please submit your proposal by clicking here. Proposals are due Monday, July 15. Don’t worry if you’ve never presented online, it's easy. We can teach you and provide all the technical support you’ll need. We hope you will take this opportunity to share your experience and expertise with your colleagues.

For more information about the conference and possibly serving as a presenter, contact Gina Minks, 800-843-8482, ext. 2825, or minks@amigos.org.
