Practical Privacy for Libraries

Libraries are well-known for defending the privacy of our patrons. In the past year, the Library & Information Technology Association, has created lists of specific actions libraries can take to safeguard privacy.
 

In this workshop, we will delve into these actions and discuss the practicalities of implementing their guidance.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Identify minimal actions a library should take to safeguard their patrons' privacy
  • Discuss the major sections of a privacy policy
  • Identify at least 3 tools that could be used to increase privacy in your library

Basic technical understanding of library services
