Mobile Site Design

What makes a good mobile site? Through examination of existing mobile sites, review of recognized mobile style guidelines, practical usability techniques, and focused discussion, participants come to their own conclusions about what these principles are.
 

During this course, we will also define types of mobile design, including responsive design, "m." design, and dynamic serving design. We will also determine what content should be included on a mobile site, inspecting key examples of mobile sites that do and do not work.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and provide an example of 4 basic principles of mobile site design
  • Define three types of mobile site design
  • Analyze and critique the basic design of 3 mobile sites

Target Audience:
Everyone

Prerequisites:
Attendees should have familiarity with Web browsers and the Internet. Basic HTML experience is preferred.

Homework Expectations and Completion Requirements:

  • Approximately one hour of homework will be required each day.
  • It is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
