Know & Go: Customer Service Basics

Information seekers interact daily with library staff to meet their information needs. Help public services staff employ retail customer service skills and techniques for any interaction with a patron, whether it would be in-person, on the phone, or virtually. In addition, understand barriers to effectively communicating with patrons and develop a strategy for staff to practice their customer service skills.
