How To: Resume and Cover Letters for New Graduates and Job Hunters

Landing a librarian position isn't easy -- especially for first timers. Does your resume and cover letter have what it takes to land you your dream position? This course will help you learn how to build a professional resume and cover letter to get the right message across to potential employers. You will also learn about some basic networking and job hunting skills that you'll need to land that interview.
 

Learning Objectives:
You will be given a template and some basic steps for editing and formatting your resumes and cover letters.

Target Audience:
This course is geared towards new MLS students and recent graduates, but anyone looking to update their application materials will benefit from the course.

Prerequisites:
Have a copy of your current resume and cover letter available for referencing and comparison during the class.

Homework Expectations and Completion Requirements:
It is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.

Technical Requirements:

Session Duration:
This course consists of one 2-hour session.
