Writing for the Web

How do we read on the web? Is reading on the web really reading?
 

In this two-hour session attendees will learn writing techniques to make websites easily readable and scannable. Identifying effective headings, page titles and trigger words will also be covered. In addition, this session will cover how to simplify complex writing, explaining how shortening sentences makes a website more readable.

Learning objectives for this session include:

  • Identifying scannable text
  • Defining "trigger words" and their significance to scannable website
  • Simplifying complex writing

Target Audience:
Everyone

Prerequisites:
Attendees should have familiarity with Web browsers and the Internet. Basic HTML experience is preferred.

Homework Expectations and Completion Requirements:

  • Attend live online session or view recording, and complete one written assignment.
  • It is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
