Amigos Board Member Lisa Wells Receives ULC Award

Lisa Wells, Assistant Director for Library Services for the Pioneer Library System, Norman, OK, and a member of the Amigos Board of Directors, is among three recipients of the 2014 Joey Rodger Leadership Award presented by the Urban Libraries Council. Wells supervises Branch and Systems Managers including technology, collections, and outreach for the Pioneer System.

The Joey Rodger Leadership Award was established in 2004 to honor ULC’s first full-time chief executive officer and president, Eleanor Jo "Joey" Rodger. The award pays tribute to Rodger's dedication to leadership in the public library and her support of library leaders. The $5,000 award provides directors or senior managers of ULC member libraries with an opportunity to strengthen their executive skills through a structured professional development program. With her award, Wells plans to attend the Strategic Foresight program at the University of Houston.
