Know & Go: Provider-Neutral Guidelines for eBooks

This Know & Go will address the Provider-Neutral Guidelines for cataloging eBooks. These guidelines were designed to prevent duplication of records representing eBooks sold by multiple vendors such as Amazon (Kindle) and Barnes & Noble (Nook).
 

Learning Objectives:

  • Define the Provider-Neutral Guidelines and their purpose in shared bibliographic databases such as OCLC
  • Cover major RDA elements as they apply to Provider-Neutral Guidelines

Target Audience:
Catalogers tasked with cataloging eBooks in shared bibliographic databases.

Prerequisites:

  • Experience with cataloging
  • Basic knowledge of RDA is helpful, but not necessary

  • This event is open to group registration; no CEUs are available for this event.
